February 2015 - Playing with Choice

Following on from February' Newsletter DEEP Truth of the Month 'Choice' this blog invites you to play!

If Choice was a toy, what kind of toy would it be?

If choice were a toy, I think of stickle bricks.  There are different shapes and colours and no matter what you can connect them together in all kinds of weird shapes, creations.

If you did not like what you created you just pulled them apart. There were no mistakes because you were being an adventurer, an explorer, a researcher - playing and having fun!

If choice was a toy, I think of a spiral graph You choose different colours of paint and paper and magic happens right before your very eyes.  There is something about sitting with anticipation and excitement and witnessing the magic as it occurs.  You have no idea how it is going to transpire but you let go of the outcome and just enjoy the process  - yay!

I must admit mine was an older version, I loved it.

What comes to mind for you?

Here is a haiku poem about choice:

Revealing options
Inspires empowerment
You choose the belief

Enjoy

January 2015 DEEP Body Love (Dive * Empower * Emerge * Play)

Here's what I know about the role of connection to your body and why it matters! Continued from January's Newsletter DEEP Body Love

There are several types of hunger!

  If you, like me have been on and off diets for years it is probably very difficult to tell the difference between physical hunger or any other type of hunger. I feel this applies not only to 'dieters' but also to others who perhaps were prescribed healthy ways of nourishing the body by experts, such as: measures/amounts, combinations of food groups, what time of day to eat, exercise, etc and I really could go on.  Why this matters is because these methods/suggestions have very little to do with body connection.  They are mainly guided by the brain, what has been learned, read and regimented!

This is one of the reasons I have experienced, along with thousands of you, weight loss and putting it back on again or simply not knowing what to eat, being so confused. Is it any wonder!

It is possible to be free from thinking whether or not you are eating the right thing! Our body is the most most reliable guidance system on the planet,but  it really does take time and patience to 'befriend' our bodies and to gain mutual trust.

Often, you think you're hungry but you know you just finished eating.  So are you thirsty or is it a different type of hunger? As mentioned there are many types of hunger, however I will be focusing on:

  •   Physical hunger - when your body needs fuel.
  •   Emotional hunger - when the emotional brain kicks in.
  •   Spiritual hunger - when you are not living your passion, your values, enjoying life.
  •   Habitual-sensory hunger - we all know about habits, boredom, procrastination and external stimulus - smells, sounds, sights, tastes that motivate us to use food when it is unnecessary.

If we are not aware of what type of hunger is alerting us to nourish ourselves, then how can we truly satisfy the appropriate hunger AND if we do not know how to nourish each aspect of that hunger, how can we satisfy ourselves!

We have learned habits over a life time that have often been passed down from one generation to another.  We have a number of stories and beliefs that impact on how we attempt to nourish and satisfy ourselves, hence the complication but it is so possible to learn to reconnect to our bodies and to use her as our guide.

I have just started a new facebook page called DEEP Body Love and will be launching a new program. Here is what it is all about:

If you have been trying to achieve an 'ideal' body shape, size or weight to make yourself happy and are still dissatisfied, then this is definitely for you. You can experience a more gentle, compassionate relationship with your body and food, to unlock a greater sense of life and vitality!

DEEP (Dive Empower Emerge Play) Body Love is about accepting and loving your body no matter what.

  • Dive to deep truths relating to how our body speaks to you and how it wants to be cared for and nourished.
  • Empower ourselves by knowing what beliefs, patterns and habits drive us, learning how to befriend our body to hear the messages of what we truly desire and deserve.
  • Emerge as the person we are meant to be, knowing the differences between emotional, physical and spiritual hunger to satisfy, nourish them appropriately.
  • And Play, by bringing more fun into our lives through playing, creating, practicing, being! Taking tangible small steps to a loving relationship with your body no matter what!.

I am so looking forward to this amazing journey.  As you know with any journey there are ups and downs, twists and turns, however we will have rests and pauses but will never give up. We will take small steps that can be fun and will keep momentum. Just like a pod of dolphins.  You are never alone!

DEEP: Body Love's Theme Shadow Muse Part 2

Welcome to blog 2 which continues the theme of Shadow Muse featured in Phinspiration Newsletter:November 2014 Shadow Muse and DEEP: Body Love's Theme Shadow Muse

Here is a little story about Shadow:

I looked out my window and saw shadow.  It was dark and scary and I was afraid.

I immediately noticed that I was afraid because I could not see what was in there and was frightened that I would be hurt.  I also realized that I assumed I had to go right into the shadow without a light and I did not.

Shadow then opened its doors wide and invited me to bring a lantern in and just to take a few steps.  Shadow suggested that I do not come all the way in yet as I might become lost.

I finally realized that I was quite surprised at how considerate shadow was and felt relieved and more inclined to visit.
I knew my next step was to revisit shadow with a little step at a time and I found myself actually looking forward to it.

Now, you try it:

I looked out my window and saw shadow. It was _________
I immediate noticed___________
Shadow then ____________________
I finally realized ______________
I knew my next step was _____________

What does your story show you?

Enjoy

Manifesting through Play!

This continues with the theme from December's Newsletter: 12 Reminders For Getting Things Done!

Having FUN always gets me to show up with an excitement that I look forward to.  I have a smile from the inside out and don't take what I am doing so seriously. Usually magic happens.

I know that PLAY allows my curiosity to thrive and be.  It inspires me to experiment, take risks, makes mistakes in a playful way.  No need to be attached to the outcome because it is a game and wow, what gets revealed is usually pretty unexpected.

Besides that it feels like fun, joy and you feel just great.  The time passes by so quickly!
I know that when we have fun, we are truly connected to our child like selves, gifting ourselves freedom to just be so present in the moment, with no judgments, just being, not questioning.

Play allows us to be so connected to our bodies and so engaged in whatever we are doing. Laughter is so healing and actually fun.  We feel rejuvenated, re-engerized.  We know no limits and expand ourselves without even trying. We are free to hop, skip and jump, like Marney's book.  Bliss!  Click here to play!

I also think it's important to mention that getting things done means that we will not always feels good about it.  It can mean that sometimes we will be saying no to things and people and in the saying no we are saying absolute yes too!

Getting things done does need to be consistent, an action, a doing, a no-nonsense stepping in and saying, "ok, I'm doing this."   Showing up in the doing – while remembering to play - leads to a sense of wellbeing and joy and creating a fully meaningful life.
Make it fun by having a singalong!

Enjoy

DEEP: Body Love's Theme Shadow Muse

Welcome to this blog which continues with the theme of Shadow Muse featured in Phinspiration Newsletter:November 2014 Shadow Muse

Shadow through the Eyes of a Child.
When I think of a shadow through the eyes of a child, I think of being a bit scared.

When I think of shadow through the eyes of a child, I see playing with the shadow like Peter Pan or trying to step on the shadow.

When I think of shadow through the eyes of a child, I imagine that monsters and nasty things live in them.

When I think of shadow through the eyes of a child I am curious as to where it came from.

When I think of a shadow through the eyes of a child I believe that the shadow must be an entity of its own: a creature, a thing that has its own mind and is playing with me or running away from me.

When I think of shadow through the eyes of a child I may want to play with it.

What comes to mind when you think of a shadow through the eyes of a child?

This month’s  theme from DEEP Body Love Coaching is Play
DEEP – Phinspire's motto - means "Discover Empower Emerge Play". Here is May’s weekly coaching/blog series which continues from the DEEP Truth of the Month for May: Play is the elixir of life for our bodies, therefore ourselves!

“You are led through your life time by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self.” Richard Bach – Illusions

Imagine for a moment if you believed this, that play connects you to you, the real you.  Would you then give yourself permission to play?  This will nurture and develop a healthy relationship with  yourself, resulting in experience less ‘hunger’ for emotion and spiritual needs.

How can you have fun as you connect with your body?
Here are some ideas to get you started:
* painting your nails
* wearing perfume
* wearing makeup if you usually don't, or not wearing it if you usually do
* putting a ribbon/slide in your hair
* new jewellery
* using hand cream
* wearing a scarf
* having a massage
* playing on a bouncy castle
* jumping on a trampoline
* face painting
* singing
* dancing
If you are unsure ask your inner child she will have lots of ideas.
Try these prompts to get you started:
1. To have fun with my body I am going to … and will I do it by …
2. I am looking forward to this because ...
3. My body wants to tell me …
4. I want to tell it …

For more DEEP Body Love support, I invite you to take a look at my newest programme here. We can work with the relationship with your body, food, yourself, which leads to much healthier relationships with others too.  You can book a 30-minute complimentary consultation to get started!

I look forward to you joining me next month for the journey with compassion. What a difference this will make to your life!

Have fun!

Love,

Liz

Today's theme from DEEP is Play

DEEP – Phinspire's motto - means "Discover Empower Emerge Play". Here is March’s weekly coaching/blog series which continues from the DEEP Truth of the Month for March: Paying attention reveals opportunities.

Now you get to play, take action.

In the interest of what works, how would it be to continue to pay attention to those times when you are creating your best life?  May I offer the ‘Traffic Light’ system?  I LOVE this and use is all the time.  Try writing these in your journal, or leave them in the comments.

Red - What are 1-3 things you need/want to stop doing, that no longer serve you?

Amber - What are 1-3 things that are working and would be useful to keep experiencing?

Green - What are 1-3 things that you could start doing that honor what you stand for and value and now you know works so well?

Congratulations you have just journeyed for a full month of Blog Coaching with myself, ARTbundance™ (Marney Makridakis, Artellaland) and Aha-phrodite (from Jill Badonsky’s Nine Modern Day Muses and a Body Guard).

May I invite you to reflect with curiosity on your March journey and notice what you notice?  What have you enjoyed most?  Why?  I invite you to post a reply with your thoughts!

I look forward to you joining me next month for journey with Albert Muse, reframing, doing things differently, breaking the rules, thinking differently!!

Today's theme from DEEP is Play

DEEP Truth: Four of Four

Now you get to play, take action.  How would it be if you and/or someone or some people who have been supporting you got together and created a collage all around the things that make you feel special, that you love to do, love to experience, that you dream of.  Others could do this for themselves also.

Consider fun aspects that you may choose just because you can.  What puts a smile on your face and radiates from the inside out?  It could be environments, activities, people, holidays, creativity, dreams, nature, sports, interests, hobbies, quotes, colours, anything.  So everything you collage, draw or paint represents things you like and love.

Now a challenge, perhaps.  Could you place a photo of yourself somewhere in the picture or an image and if it feels uncomfortable, try acting as if you did like/love yourself for 30 seconds, enough time to just present it on your creation, perhaps this may assist. J

A word of caution, some people feel they need to produce a piece of 'perfect' art, and therefore may not start.  This is about the process, having fun, making lots of mistakes, feeling free so that you can connect with what you have created.  All art is quite subjective anyway!!!

I often use collages as a wise sage or muse and ask questions.  You would be surprised regarding the answers you would hear, which of course are from your wise self.  Some questions may be:

*     What do you need me to know today?
*     What would be in my best interest today?

What questions can you come up with that would continue to help you discover what empowers you so that it enables you to emerge to be who you are meant to be and manifests in play, actions that are in standing with the love you are developing you.  Have fun.

Phinspire’s DEEP Truth of the Week: Today's theme from DEEP is Discover

DEEP – Phinspire's motto - means "Discover Empower Emerge Play". Here's a new weekly blog series which focuses on one of these concepts each week.

“The only person who can pull me down is myself, and I'm not going to let myself pull me down anymore.”  C. JoyBell C.

What is your reaction to this?

I thought …
I thought …
I thought …

I felt …
I felt …
I felt …

I would like to …
I would like to …
I would like to …

Here is my reaction: I thought that is so true.  I can put myself down like no one else and I really am not going to do that anymore.  I would not do that to another person because it is hurtful so how come I do it to me sometimes. This is not ok.  No more!

Congratulations on your discovery.  How may you celebrate this?

Play - Haiku. 1st line 5 syllables, 2nd line 7, 3rd line 5.

 Lets say you believed in play, that play was in fact as important as eating, drinking, breathing.  That play nurtures and nourishes you and actually empowers you to be the person you really are.

Not noticing time
Engrossed, blissfully, divine
Creating, joyful

Resume, normal life
Present, a sense of delight
Connect with others

This gift you give you
Is a gift to others too
Just play and witness

What if for a moment you took on this notion of play, what would your haiku be and what would you actually do?
Have fun playing, even if it is for 5 minutes.
