What is your Giraffe?

This month we are talking about Lull - that state of taking time away for dreaming and being.

Being in lull feels inactive, but it also IS active. What I mean by that is that this space, this time allows very naturally for the body, mind and spirit to connect with ease and flow.  Our minds love questions and take in so much information.  When we are in Lull, our mind can play with the ideas that come around when we have some space without pressure and rushing.

Lull happens to be very good for problem solving and getting a bigger perspective. If we need to see a difference view from where things are, using a favorite Lull image can be helpful to take us to a place where our perspective shifts.

What is your favorite Lull image that can lift you to see a new perspective?

Sometimes my Lull can be a giraffe deciding to lift its beautiful long neck up from below where its body is, and gracefully stretch, reaching beautifully above all the activity below.  I simply  imagine the giraffe;s view, and see how it would be so different from the hustle and bustle of everyone around at its lower level.  Simply choosing to gracefully lift our head, like a giraffe, and use our neck to see a view from the top is a gift we can give ourselves.

I sometimes put myself on a magic carpet. From this view you can see what really matters to you.  Are you surrounded by shoulds, oughts?  Is what you love and brings you joy near you? Can you even see it?  What about the people you love and enjoying being with?  Does your body feel healthy, vitalized and appreciated?   How does your magic carpet ride help you connect to your inner wisdom?

Leave a reply with your favorite Lull image and how it helps you find a new perspective!

Love the idea of Lull, the Giraffe. Right now I certainly need a higher perspective in a family medical situation in which I have no control. Seeing from where Lull is means that I can keep a spiritual view asking what is best for the highest good without being as drawn into the drama of personalities acting out without compassion. Thanks for the help.
