What are they thinking?

I met a young lady who constantly thought about what others thought, which affected what she thought of herself, how she behaved and what she believed.  This was not a positive experience of course.

When she started to play with the idea that she did not have any evidence of what she imagined they thought and played with the idea that they may even be thinking about what they are going to have for dinner this seemed to make her smile.

It some how gave her permission to consider her own thoughts and did she think of others the way she thought others thought of her. What is interesting is that there are so many different opinions, different experiences, perceptions, just like a crystal.  How can you possible even attempt to develop your own self of worth, self esteem if it is based on others.  You will always be wrong because there are so many different opinions.  What you can learn to rely on is your own experience of you.  It takes time and is so possible.

My inner guidance
Teach me to listen and hear
So I may embrace

My inner guidance
Teach me to notice feelings
So I may nourish

My inner guidance
Teach me to accept
To love all of me

How would it be to complete this sentence 10 times or more, My inner guidance teach me ....
